The south of Tenerife is the warmest, driest corner of the island, which is why the resorts are here. It does not really have a bad month. It does have better weeks for different things, and prices that move with them.
Temperatures below are typical daytime highs in Costa Adeje and Las Américas; the sea barely changes.
January and February
20 to 22°C, sea 19°C. The quietest, cheapest weeks after New Year, and the peak of the surf season. Evenings need a jumper. Good for groups who want the villa and the pool to themselves.
March and April
22 to 24°C. Easter is busy and priced accordingly; the weeks either side are excellent value. The island is green after the winter rain up north. Still swell on the west coast.
May and June
24 to 26°C, sea warming to 21°C. Our favourite months: long days, light winds, before the summer crowds. Prices are mid-range.
July and August
27 to 29°C, sea 23°C. School holidays across Europe, so the busiest and most expensive weeks, and the trade winds pick up in the afternoons. Book well ahead, and expect seven-night minimums.
September and October
26 to 28°C, sea at its warmest, 24°C. Quieter than August, warmer than June. If you can travel outside school holidays, this is the sweet spot for families and for groups who want the pool and the beach both.
November and December
22 to 24°C. The first winter swells arrive for surfers. Early December is calm and good value; Christmas and New Year are the most in-demand week of the year for a big villa, and they book out months ahead.
A note on the pool
Because the villa's pool is heated, the swim season is the whole year, which matters more than people expect in January.
Prices
Prices on our calendar are set per date and move with demand, so the same week can cost noticeably less two weeks earlier or later. The calendar on the home page shows the price and minimum stay for every night; there is no hidden fee and no platform commission on top.
